Experience Skopje from air !

Tandem flight on a sunny spring days over the capital city of Skopje is a great experience for everyone. Such day we had this previous weekend for the Easter Holidays, and spent it in air enjoying the best panoramic view of Skopje.Standard tandem flight from the Vodno Mount. take off point (1060m.a.s.l, or 800m height difference from the landing point) usually lasts app. 30 min with landing near the city park. But Vodno Mount. is an excellent take off point for XC flights (flying longer distances ) as well, due to winds blowing from north and the geographic position of the mountain.

 My passenger Sandra was a first-timer so we raised up only to 1500m.a.s.l. Nevertheless, from this height there's a view over the Millennium Cross, one of the most attractive locations for tourists. Looking south you can see the magnificent mountains of Karagjica and  Kitka on southeast. In the distance raises one of the most beautiful mountain peaks in Macedonia - Solunska Glava. Directing  3-4km towards west, we fly over the Matka Canyon which is listed in the top 10 canyons and gorges for walking and hiking trips. To cut the long story short, flying tandem from the Vodno mountain is a genuine exciting experience.

Tandem flight over Ohrid Lake - Take off point: Galičica mountain

Tandem flight over the city of Ohrid - Take off point: Velestovo

Ohrid is definitely the most attractive and most desirable destination for tourists and nature lovers in Macedonia. Being an UNESCO protected site under natural criteria, the Ohrid region has extraordinary options for tandem paragliding as well. One of the three main take off points within the Ohrid region is the village of Velestovo located only 5km from the center of Ohrid, at 1246m.a.s.l.
During this tandem flight the passengers experience  breathtaking aerial view of the city, the marina, the lake promenade and the old part of the city.

Paragliding in Skopje from Vodno Mountain

When you find yourself in Skopje, the capital city of Macedonia, and yet you are a fan of adventure sports and eager for new flying experiences, the fastest and easiest way to get up there is to fly with tandem from the Vodno Mountain. Regarded as one of the greatest city attractions, the National Park Vodno offers a splendid take off point at its peak of 1.066m asl. and gives you an unforgettable panoramic view of the capital city. It takes you less than 10 min. by car from the city center to get to the middle point of the mountain, and from there you take the cable car which will bring you to the peak and the take off point in a few minutes. Skopje loves paragliding!

Tandem Flight over Shar Mountains

To catch the last days of winter for this year, few weeks ago I flew over the Shar Mountains. As always, it is an excellent experience to enjoy taking off from Ceripashina - one of the highest mountain peaks in Macedonia.
Shar Mountains is a great destination for paragliding and tandem flights in Macedonia. Only an hour-long ride from Skopje and you'll find yourself ready for taking off. The easy accessibility to Shar Mountains enables the paragliding to be practiced throughout the whole year as well as high demand of tandem flights for tourists and adventurers. Usually, the starting point is the peak of Ceripashina, 2.525m,  where you get by using cable car from the ski center Popova Shapka. During the flight we raise up to 3000m. and more, and enjoy the extraordinary view of the Polog region of Macedonia.
More info on Shar Mountains:Situated in the north-western part of Republic of Macedonia, this massif extends from northeast through west, continuing to the southwest for 80km with total surface area of 1600km2.  Belonging to the group of young mountain chains with its cold winters and pleasant summers, this massif is covered with extraordinary reach flora and fauna. Winds mostly blow from north-west. Shar Mountains have large number of mountain peaks, all higher than 2.500m asl. The highest peak is Titov Vrv - 2.747m. The Eyes of Shar Mountains are the glacial lakes that add additional beauty to the landscape. There are 25 constant lakes and 150 occasional ones. The water potential is huge with its 200 springs of pure water. Imagine what it is like to fly over such beauties during spring, summer and fall.
